VIBE Home Makeovers provide designer home renovations to recipient families in need, at no cost to the homeowners.
Each VIBE Home Makeover Flagship Edition provides a complete home transformation, with at least 20 exterior and interior improvements and upgrades. The renovations are completed during a 12-day community build, and supported by volunteers from our project partners, including home improvement-related companies.
Upgrades may include: Painting (Exterior + Interior), Landscaping, A/C and Heating, Flooring, Kitchen Cabinets (Refacing or Replacement), Countertops, Appliances, Bathroom Upgrades, New Furniture, Mattresses and Bedding, the latest Electronics, Smart Home, Security System, Closets, Window Treatments, Lighting (Exterior + Interior), Ceiling Fans, Exterior Veneer Walls, Water Purification, Whole House Generator, Gutters + Protection, Outdoor Furniture, Fencing, and Pavers.
Other enhancements may include Therapeutic Spa, Outdoor Deck, Lawn Care Equipment, Outdoor Shed, Electrical, Plumbing, Roofing, Storm Shutters, Garage Upgrades, Epoxy Surfacing, Custom Carpentry, and Special Needs/Requests for their highly specific situation or circumstance.
Finishing touches complete the designer makeover and may include Artwork, Décor, Mirrors, Plants, Vases, Rugs, Lamps, Clocks, Shelving, Linens, and Throw Pillows; all combined with the Homeowner’s Treasures. It is expected that each homeowner receives several of these finishing touches.
In our first year, five families will receive home makeovers, with one recipient receiving the Flagship Edition upgrade, an extensive interior and exterior renovation. Four other recipient families receive the Select Edition, a ‘mini makeover’ with four or more major improvements and an array of finishing touches.
Nominated families and individuals household income should not exceed 300% of federal poverty level ($96,450 for a family of four), although families with severe health or other challenging conditions may be eligible with higher household incomes. Simply, the greater need a nominee family or individual may have, the lesser the focus on the income guidelines may become.
Candidates for all VIBE Home Makeovers must reside in the home to be renovated.
Applicants for the Flagship Series must own their home, and live in the Tampa Bay MSA (Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, or Hernando county).
Applicants for the Select Series can own or rent their home, and must live in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Polk, Manatee, Sarasota, or Citrus county.
